Be part of the Māla Lāʻau Project and help grow a thriving community forest garden. Each month, we come together to care for this space, learn, and build something lasting for the community.
No need to sign up—just show up ready to jump in.
If you sign up on our website, you can complete waivers in advance and receive volunteer updates.
What to Expect
Each workday is different, but tasks may include:
Planting and caring for plants
Laying down cardboard and mulch
Pruning
Gathering plant materials
Removing invasive species
No experience needed—everyone is welcome.
We learn by doing, together.

All volunteers must complete a waiver before participating (just once unless updated).
Save time—fill it out online before you arrive. In-person waivers are available, but online is preferred.

Workdays at KAEF
The Kauaʻi Animal Education Farm Māla Lāʻau is thriving! KAEF workdays will graduate to an every-other-month schedule, giving us dedicated time to care for this special space together.
